At Mushnik’s Florists, clerk Seymour is growing an odd horticultural find. Turns out that water is not enough; it takes warm bodies to keep the bloodthirsty flower fed. This hilariously harrowing musical became a monster hit for Menken & Ashman before they wrote The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast for Disney. A tender love story, along with rock, R&B, and 60s girl group music, complete this carnivorous carnival of fun.

PATRICK CANNON (Orin Scrivello, DDS) - is grateful to be back home at Pittsburgh Public Theater. Previous productions at PPT include Sweat (Jason), Hamlet (Marcellus), A Servant to Two Masters (Silvio), and Our Town (George Gibbs). Patrick has worked with companies in Pittsburgh including Pittsburgh CLO, Pittsburgh Playhouse REP, Front Porch Theatricals, City Theatre, No Name Players, and Bricolage. He has worked with theater companies throughout the country including Drury Lane Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre Garage Rep, Strange Tree Group, Cape May Stage, Mountain Playhouse, Totem Pole Playhouse, and The Barnstormers. Monteze Freeland is an actor, director, playwright, producer, and teaching artist. Beloved acting credits include Aida, South Pacific, Dreamgirls, Wild With Happy, Paradise Blue, Little Shop of Horrors, Sweat, A Few Good Men, King Lear, Radio Golf, and The Piano Lesson. Select directing credits include Miss Julie, Clarissa and John, In the Heat of the Night, Hairspray, Shrek, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, and Hero: The Boy From Troy.

LAUREN MARCUS (Audrey) This past year, Lauren made her Broadway debut as Brooke Lohst in the original company of Be More Chill at the Lyceum Theatre. MARC MORITZ (Mr. Mushnik) is thrilled to be making his first appearance at Pittsburgh Public Theater. Marc originated the role of Talk Show Host in the Broadway production of the Stephen Sondheim / Hal Prince Musical, Merrily We Roll Along. Other Shows/Roles include: Twelfth Night (Grumio) Boy (Barnes), Diary of Anne Frank (Otto), Amadeus (Emperor Joseph) Scottsboro Boys (Interlocutor), Into the Woods (Mysterious Man), Sunshine Boys (Lewis) Theaters: Pittsburgh Playhouse, Goodman, Long Wharf, New Harmony, Dobama, Karamu, Porthouse, Off The Wall, Idaho Shakespeare, Riverside Shakespeare, Cleveland Playhouse, Great Lakes Theatre Festival. Marc was the Founder / Director of Cleveland's successful Improv Troupe - GIANT PORTIONS and has taught Improv at ImprovOlympic and Second City in Chicago. Marc has taught acting at AMDA and CAP 21 in NYC and is the Midwest Affiliate for MainStreet Musicals (http://www.mainstreetmusicals.org), a NY -based Non-Profit organization committed to nurturing new works regionally. Marc was in the Returning Professional Program at Kent State University where he received his MFA. He has two beautiful children - Sarah and Joseph.

J. ALEX NOBLE (Prince John & Little John) – Alex is thrilled to be back onstage with Pittsburgh Public Theater. Previous roles for PPT include; Sam in A Few Good Men, Puppeteer for Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors, Harry the Horse in Guy's and Dolls, and Harry in My Fair Lady. Graduate of Point Park University and AEA member since 2012.

ABIGAIL STEPHENSON (Chiffon) - is excited to be making her Pittsburgh Public debut! She is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Masters Musical Theatre program and has been in an actor in New York for the past year. Marya Sea Kaminski

MARYA SEA KAMINSKI (Director) is honored to co-lead Pittsburgh Public Theater. She came to Pittsburgh after four years as the Associate Artistic Director at Seattle Repertory Theatre. One of the highlights of her tenure there was spearheading a collaboration with New York’s Public Theater and Dallas Theatre Center to create Public Works Seattle. This initiative was based on long-term, authentic partnerships between regional theaters and local non-profits and designed to make theater of, by, and for the people. Earlier in her career, Marya co-founded the Washington Ensemble Theatre and served as Co-Artistic Director there for five years, leading season planning and new play development. She has worked as a director, writer, producer and actor and is a proud member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, Actors’ Equity Association, and the Society of Authors and Dramatic Composers. Marya has taught and lectured on Theater at Hollins University, the University of Washington, and at Cornish College of the Arts, where she was awarded the Drama Department’s Award for Teaching Excellence. She has also been honored with the Genius Award in Theater from the Seattle newsweekly, The Stranger, and has been recognized as an Artist of the Year by Seattle Magazine. Marya holds a BA in English and Theatre Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and an MFA from the University of Washington’s School of Drama.
John McDaniel

JOHN McDANIEL (Music Director) is a Grammy and Emmy Award winning Music Director, Composer, Director, Arranger, Orchestrator and Producer and is an Artistic Director at the Tony Award winning O’Neill Theater Center. Recently he directed Sondheim Originals at 54 Below, Piano Men at Birdland, Into the Woods and Hair in Concert at the historic Patchogue Theater. On Broadway: Bonnie and Clyde (Drama Desk Nomination, Best Orchestrations), Catch Me If You Can, Brooklyn (Producer and Orchestrator), Annie Get Your Gun (Grammy Award), Taboo, Chicago, Grease, Patti LuPone on Broadway, and Company – the Original Cast in Concert at Lincoln Center. On Television: “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” (two Emmy Awards and eight nominations). John has collaborated with Cab Calloway, Shirley MacLaine, George Burns, Joel Grey, Carol Burnett, Betty Buckley, Bette Midler, and has guest conducted at 15 Symphony Orchestras across America, including five concerts with his hometown St. Louis Symphony. John received a BFA in Drama from Carnegie Mellon University.
