Pittsburgh Public Theater is committed to producing diverse theatrical experiences of the highest caliber. Each year, more than 100,000 people visit The Public to experience our exceptional productions and programs — including more than 13,000 young people. Yet ticket sales only cover 43 percent of our costs. The remainder largely comes from contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations and the government — The Supporting Cast of The Public.

- Engage younger audiences and share the love of theater by helping to provide the most generous youth discount in the city — $15.50 for full-time students and anyone age 26 and under

- Create the professional scenery, costumes, lighting, sound, and special effects that you enjoy on our stage
- Stimulate the cultural scene and the economy in our region and encourage arts education for students of all ages

Ten years ago and much to the delight of Pittsburghers, Ted Pappas decided to trade his distinguished career directing plays, musicals, operas, television shows, and concerts for some of North America's great companies to become the Artistic Director of Pittsburgh Public Theater. Ted's versatility, dedication and exciting artistic leadership have earned Pittsburgh Public Theater and our region national attention and are deserving of a major celebration!
Please join us for "ON WITH THE SHOW! A Gala Celebrating 10 Years of Pappas at The Public". This exciting benefit for Pittsburgh Public Theater will be held at the new Fairmont Pittsburgh Hotel on the evening of Saturday, May 1, 2010 and will feature fabulous food, a fun tribute to Ted and a concert by Tina Fabrique, star of Ella.
