For Teachers
Pittsburgh Public Theater's education programs offer creative ways for teachers to meet Pennsylvania's Academic Standards in a variety of areas, including history, geography, and civics and government.
"This program is of particular value to our students because it provides an opportunity for a student, who otherwise is not able to participate in arts programs, to be a ‘star.' Children are eligible to participate regardless of their academic ability or natural talent. Through the years, we have seen students who are reluctant to participate in school activities and typically shy children come to life in a special way when the lights come on at the theater."
- Martin Slomberg, Principal, Robert L. Vann Elementary School, Pittsburgh Public Schools
The Public's educational impact extends not just to serving the Pittsburgh Public School District; The Public also reaches a significant number of school districts throughout Western Pennsylvania, as well as school districts in Ohio and West Virginia.
