For Students
Students from more than 200 elementary, middle and high schools get involved in The Public's education and outreach programs — from the Shakespeare Monologue Contest to classes and workshops that show the ins and outs of theater to the best student discount ticket program around. You're invited to join us and see what it's all about!
Students can take part in:
$15 Ticket Program - Available to full-time students and anyone age 26 and under. Find out about student subscriptions!
Shakespeare Monologue & Scene Contest - Annual winter event open to students in
grades 4-12.
Creative Dramatics - The Public partners with six elementary schools and students in grades 4-5 for a 12-week collaborative art experience.
Student Classes & Workshops - Classes in acting, playwriting and technical theater
for ages 10-17.
Open Stage Student Matinees - Performances designed for students that take place on designated Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m. or Noon, followed by a talkback where students discuss the play with the cast and The Public staff.
