Acting Workshop                                    September 22- November 10

A lively exploration of the acting process in which students study character development, voice, movement, and text analysis in a supportive, professional environment. No previous experience necessary.  Mondays and Wednesdays,          6:30-8:30 p.m. $275 - NOTE: As of 9/22/08, there are three (3) spaces left in the Wednesday class ONLY.

Introduction to Playwriting                   September 29- November 17

This course is composed of intensive exercises that illuminate the basic dramatic elements of theater and film. Writers are encouraged to find the dramatic connections between their work and personal experiences. Mondays, 6:30-8:30 pm $275 Instructor: Julie Tosh

Acting Workshop - 2
Prerequisite: Introduction to Acting or by permission of instructor

A further exploration of an actor's techniques aimed at providing an imaginative springboard to dramatic action by investigating place, character, circumstances and action.  Outside rehearsals required.

Monday evenings, January 26 - March 16, 2009    6:30-8:30 pm.

 

Playwriting Workshop - 2
Prerequisite: Introduction to Playwriting or by permission of instructor

In this workshop students will explore premise, structure, character development, writing captivating dialogue, making conflict interesting, writing beyond simple plot points and the rewriting process.  We will also go over the process of submitting plays for production consideration: writing cover letters, a synopsis, a short biography.
